ScHoolboy Q

Quincy Matthew Hanley, known professionally as ScHoolboy Q, is a rapper from South Central Los Angeles, California, and a core member of the Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) collective alongside Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. ScHoolboy Q is one of hip-hop's most distinctive voices: his music balances the visceral reality of gang life, addiction, and parenthood with an absurdist humor and melodic adventurousness that makes his albums feel simultaneously gritty and joyful. His "Oxymoron" (2014) debuted at #1, driven by the massive hit "Man of the Year," and received widespread critical acclaim for its unflinching exploration of drug addiction. "Blank Face LP" (2016) was widely named one of the best rap albums of the decade. After a prolonged hiatus, he returned with "Blue Lips" (2024), a dense, psychedelic project that reaffirmed his singular artistic vision and earned widespread critical celebration.
