Kid Cudi

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, known professionally as Kid Cudi, is a rapper, singer, actor, and record producer from Cleveland, Ohio. One of hip-hop's most emotionally influential artists, Kid Cudi pioneered an introspective, melancholic brand of rap and alternative hip-hop that opened entirely new emotional territories for the genre. His debut mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi" (2008) caught Kanye West's attention, leading to his signing with GOOD Music. His debut album "Man on the Moon: The End of Day" (2009) was a landmark meditation on depression, existential loneliness, and self-discovery — themes rarely explored with such frankness in hip-hop at the time. The album's influence on subsequent generations of emo-rap, including artists like Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, and Lil Uzi Vert, cannot be overstated. His "Indicud" (2013) and "Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'" (2016) further pushed his creative boundaries. His 2022 album "Entergalactic" — a companion to his Netflix animated special of the same name — demonstrated his continuing artistic ambition.
