Gerald Earl Gillum, known professionally as G-Eazy, is a rapper and record producer from Oakland, California. One of the Bay Area's most commercially successful rappers, G-Eazy built his career through relentless touring, a business-minded approach to the industry, and a sleek, retro aesthetic influenced by Frank Sinatra and old Hollywood that distinguished him from his peers. After self-releasing albums and building a grassroots fanbase, his major label debut "These Things Happen" (2014) debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. His subsequent album "When It's Dark Out" (2015) and "The Beautiful & Damned" (2017) cemented his commercial standing, with the latter debuting at #3 and featuring major collaborations with Halsey and Cardi B. "Me, Myself & I" (2015) remains one of his signature songs. His 2020 collaborative album "Everything's Strange Here" and subsequent projects demonstrate his ongoing dedication to craft even as he navigates a rapidly changing musical landscape.
